We believe that advocating for humor in professional spaces helps reduce imposter syndrome, creating space for people to bring their whole selves into their work. When someone is brave enough to make a joke, they are sharing their knowledge, experience, perspective, and emotions with an audience. When we laugh, we are saying “Yes! I, too, have had that experience and emotion!” This cultivates community, empathy, and belonging in our shared professional spaces.
